"E. W. T. MAYER LTD., was founded in 1908 by the present managing director, Mr. E. W. T. Mayer, for the production of ceramic colours and glazes. At that time the speciality was mazarine blue for underglaze use for china and earthenware, and the firm was one of the pioneers in its application. Since then, various new colours have been produced, and the firm has developed and expanded.
In 1935 the firm was made into a limited company, and in 1940 removed to the present larger premises, where it was possible to extend still further, and commence bulk production of glazes and also oxides for vitreous enamelling.

From the commencement, the policy of the company has been to make its products of the very best quality, and this has been amply repaid in the good name in the industry both at home and overseas.
During the past ten years, the export of colours, glazes and oxides has been considerably extended and the directors are confident that overseas demands for quality goods at competitive prices will expand."
