Earthenware manufacturers at Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent

  • In 1793 the Whitehead brothers took over the works from their uncles Charles & Ephraim Chatterley

  • A Whitehead catalogue of 1789 lists printed, painted and enamelled ware as well as 'dry bodies such as Egyptian, Black, Jasper, etc'  

  • The brothers were declared bankrupt in 1810.
