China manufacturers at the Mill Street Works, Mill Street (by 1900 was renamed Edensor Road), Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, England.

  • In 1879 John Aidney had been in a brief partnership at works in the High Street with George Day and Thomas Tunnicliffe Day, trading as Aidney & Co. 

  • This partnership was dissolved in August 1879. George Day and Thomas Tunnicliffe Day continued as G & T T Day

  • John Aidney remained in the High Street works and then in 1882 moved to the newly built Mill Street Works in Edensor Road. 

  • The partners of Aidney, Griffiths & Co were John Aidney, Hamlet Griffiths and William Webberley.

  • In October 1890 partnership was dissolved by mutual consent, and the business disposed of.

notice of the dissolution of the partnership of Aidney, Griffiths & Co

 

NOTICE is hereby given, that the Partnership here-tofore subsisting between us the undersigned, John Aidney, Hamlet Griffiths, and William Webberley, carrying on business at Longton, in the county of Stafford, as China Manufacturers, under the style or firm Aidney, Griffiths, and Co., has this day been dissolved by mutual consent, and the business disposed of. 

All debts due to or owing by the late firm will be received and paid by the said John Aidney, to whose Solicitors, Messrs. Hawley and Jackson, of Longton, Staffordshire, all applications must be made.—Dated this 28th day of October, 1890.
