From 1853-58 Finney was in partnership with Walker as "Walker & Finney" and then from 1858 continued as "J Finney & Co".

Joseph Finney was a tenant at the Victoria Works in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent.

"Victoria Works... were converted into china works, and so continued to 1899. The goods produced by Messers. J. Finney & Co. were the usual classes of tea, breakfast, and desert services, and fancy goods of average quality in body and decoration for home and foreign markets."
