Earthenware manufacturer at the Melbourne Works, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent

  • Operated as Barlows Ltd (1920-22)

  • The business was managed by Mr H T Colcolough from its start in 1920 to his retirement in 1947.

  • The business was acquired by Thomas C Wild & Sons (probably in 1922) and from then on traded as Barlows (Longton) Ltd as part of the Wild group of companies. 

  • In 1941 production was suspended under the war time concentration scheme.

  • In 1946 the business was purchased by Lawleys Ltd and Barlows then operated as part of the Lawley controlled Adderley Group. 

  • In 1952 the business closed.
