Former calcining works. Late 19th Century. Brick with plain tiled roofs.

L-plan. Works comprise a 2-storeyed workshop range parallel with the canal, with 5 blocked windows and upper loading doors. At right angles to this, a single-storeyed range, once open on a series of arcaded arches now filled in.

At the east of the site, a pair of calcining kilns adjoin the workshop range: one a narrow cylindrical form, the other square in section with heavily moulded cap, and chimney to rear.

2 Calcining kilns, prominent canal side position on the Trent and Mersey canal, near the junction with the Burslem canal extension.
