Member of Stoke-on-Trent Board of Guardians, 1916-19, as Labour Representative; 
Chairman of National Pottery Council, 1927, a Member of the S.O.T. City Council Service, 1928 ;
Trustee of the National Society of Pottery Workers, since 1917

Over Twelve years connected with Workers Educational Association Movement, Vice-Chairman for district for three years.
