Chamber Candle Stick stands nearly
8" tall
manufactured by the WARDLE pottery c 1902 when Frederick Hurten Rhead
was the art director the pattern shows a Country Life scene, very
similar to Rheads patterns he designed for the Roseville pottery,
Charlotte and Dollie Rhead also worked at the Wardle Pottery .
Deco style vase in a mottled brown colourway
- it measures 8" x 5",
the George Jones backstamp indicates manufacture approximately the
1930,s
there is also a impressed mark "WARDLE"
The George Jones and
Wardle works were very close (perhaps even in the same building) and
this is an excellent example of potters cooperation.
