William Boyle & Co
Boyle & Company

Location and period of operation:

W Boyle & Co

Fenton

c. 1850

China and earthenware manufacturer in Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent, England.
  • In the 1849 White directory, Boyle & Co are recorded as a china & earthenware manufacturer at Fenton and as dealers in cut and plain glass at 108 Steelhouse Lane, Birmingham. The same information is replicated in the 1850 Kelly directory.

  • It appears that the manufacturing business at Fenton was short lived.

  • In June 1864 a notice in the London Gazette records the dissolution of a partnership between William Boyle and Samuel Furniss. The business was recorded as "Glass, China and Earthenware Dealers" operating at 145 Steelhouse-lane (misspelt as Stullhouse-lane). William Boyle continued the business on his own account.
