In 1932 Hammersley & Co was incorporated as Hammersley and Co (Longton) Ltd.
The notice of incorporation lists the owners of Hammersley and Co as Helena M G Hammersley and W.H.Goss.
The directors of the business were listed as Helena M G Hammersley (the widow of Gilbert Hammersley) and Eric V Hammersley, Leslie B Hammersley (the sons of Gilbert Hammersley)
In the 1951 Pottery Gazette, Eric and Leslie Hammersley were listed as joint managing directors.
Family control continued (under Anthony W Hammersley) until June 1970 when the business was acquired by Carborundum Co., who had already acquired the pottery company W. T. Copeland in 1966 (Copeland was the company that followed on from Spode in the 19th century).
