Earthenware manufacturer at the Kensington Works, Hanley and then from around 1941 at the Top Bridge Works, Longport, Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, England. 

  • Kensington Pottery operated at the Kensington Works in Hanley.

  • Around 1937 Gerald Wood, the Managing Director of the Arthur Wood Group acquired a controlling interest in Kensington Pottery Ltd. Since 1934 the Arthur Wood Group had also owned Price Bros, who operated from the Top Bridge Works.

  • In 1941, under the Wartime Concentration Scheme, Price Bros (Burslem) Ltd were designated as a Nucleus Firm. Kensington Pottery Ltd (a sister company) was concentrated with them at Top Bridge Pottery. Products of Price Bros and Kensington Pottery were made at Top Bridge Pottery as separate entities.

  • Closed and concentrated companies were allowed to reopen from August 1945 and Kensington remained at the Top Bridge Works, continuing under their own name. 

  • In 1951 the company officers were recorded as: Managing Director - Gerald F. Wood; Sales Manager - A. O. Evans; Decorating Manager - A. C. Rowley; (these were the same as Price Brothers).
    Kensington Potteries had agents in 7 countries. - Pottery Gazette Directory 1951. 

  • In December 1961 Price Bros (Burslem) Ltd and Kensington Pottery Ltd. were amalgamated as Price & Kensington Potteries Ltd.
