Earthenware manufacturer at the Warwick Works, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, England
  • Originally established as Plant & Taylor at the Warwick Works, Chadwick-street, Longton. The partners were Ralph Plant and Sara Ann Taylor.

  • In October 1892 Sara Ann Taylor left the business. Ralph Plant continued the business as Plant & Co. (London Gazette, 8 Nov 1892)

  • By 1896 the business was named as R. Plant & Sons, manufacturing general earthenware for both the home and colonial markets. Their advertised specialities included toilet ware, tea ware and ornamental vases, while a London showroom at 90 Hatton Garden enabled them to serve customers throughout Britain and overseas. (Pottery Gazette Diary, 1896)

  • In May 1901 the partnership of James Enoch Plant, William Plant and Benjamin Heywood Cookson, trading as R. Plant & Sons at the Warwick Works, Chadwick Street, Longton, entered bankruptcy. Charles Ernest Bullock, a Hanley chartered accountant, was appointed trustee to administer the firm's estate on behalf of its creditors. The bankruptcy marked the end of the partnership's control of the Warwick Works. (London Gazette, 11 June 1901).
