Third Town Hall,
Hanley
The present Town Hall in Albion Street was built as the Queens Hotel in 1869, designed by Robert Scrivener. It became the Town Hall about 1886..
Entry in N. Pevsner's 'The Buildings of England':
"TOWN HALL, Albion Street. By Robert Scrivener, 1869. Built as the QUEEN'S HOTEL. Brick and stone, symmetrical, with French pavilion roofs. In front of the Town Hall the WAR MEMORIAL, 1921-2 by Harold Brownsword."
