Ashley

Grand ride against a gale of wind, could just scrawl down hill. Hy (Harry) however went along at a fearful pace.
We made a beautiful mistake when looking at map, imagined the road went through Clayton, when we got there, had to slope across to the Whitmore road by a sweet stony lane. When we got to the crossroads Henry was despairing, however, we struggled on to Ashley.
Had a feed, and an admiring look at Siggin’s Sacred Monkey.
Then blackberries for desert. Harry one-legged it for some distance returning.
(Rode with Charlie and with Harry.)
Total journeys 6. Total miles 163.
