Born 1884 at Kidsgrove. Son of late Edwin H. Griffiths.

Educated at Newcastle High School and Hanley High School.

Married 1915, Lily Gertrude, daughter of late John Cotton.

Member of Kidsgrove U.DC., 1913-1934 ; 
Chairman of same, 1922-23 and 1930-31 ; 
Chairman Finance Committee, 1924-26 and 1930—33.
Member of the Staffordshire County Council, 1925-28; 
Member of Staffs Education Committee, 1926-28.
Served in R.A.F., 1918-19, in England, France and Belgium. 
Chairman of Prince of Wales’s Fund for the alleviation of Distress to Miners ; 
Governor of Wolstanton Grammar School ; 
Chairman of many local committees including the Boy Scouts. 

Recreations — Fishing, Shooting and Cricket.

Heir—John Edwin H. Griffiths. Born 1916.
