Parliament Row, Hanley
This picture taken about the time of the first World War.
It looks along Parliament Row in the opposite direction to the previous post cards - Parliament Row continues on in the distance towards Old Hall Street. To the right is Tontine Square.
Buildings to the left are AMIES Ltd advertising "Society Shoes" - this building is now part of Boots.
The next building is "The LYRIC" "Electric Theatre" it was an early picture house which was only open for about 10 years and then next to The Lyric is Woolworth's.
Woolworth's is still on the same location, occupying its own space and that of the Lyric.
