Postcards of Hanley - Fountain Square

 


Fountain Square, Hanley 

Fountain Square is an area which is in the centre of a number of open spaces - Market Square (to the left), Tontine Square (to the right), Crown Bank and Miles Bank 

The imposing building behind the fountain was Hanley's second Town Hall which was later used as Lloyds Bank. 

Hanley's second town hall also housed the police station.
Built in 1845 and in 1886
became Lloyds bank.


To the left of that is BEE & Co advertising carpets and linoleums  

on the Town Halls of the Potteries
