 The Sneyd Arms Public House at the Hanley / Howard Place end of Shelton New Road. Shelton New Road to the right (leading to Howard Place) and Shearer Street is the short street to the left leading to Bedford Road. On the 1898 OS map Shearer Street was known as Russell Street, it was renamed in the early 1950's.
