Slippery Lane - a small road which joins Clough Street with Sun Street. It crosses Robson Street (which used to be Slippery Street).

The factories are (2000) used by the Steelite Hotel ware.

The pottery works which fronts onto Clough Street are the Vulcan Works, which until 1979 were the factory of Alcock, Lindley & Bloore
