In the Ivy House area of Hanley, close to the Eagle Pottery works of J & G Meakin (part of the Wedgwood Group) are a number of streets commemorating the victory of the battle of Waterloo by Nelson and the 1st Duke of Wellington in 1815. So we have Wellington Street, Court, Road and Terrace as well as Nelson Place and Waterloo Street.

Waterloo Street runs from Botteslow Street at the top and into Cresswell Road where it joins Ivy House Road at the bottom.

this shop used to be a Co-op shop.
at the corner of Waterloo Street and Wellington Road is this shop which used to be a Co-op shop.

The Highland Laddie Public House
On the opposite corner is The Highland Laddie Public House, which used to be a Parkers Pub.
