England players
Three Stoke City players were in the England team which lost 3-1 to
Scotland at Hampden park in 1937. The players were Stanley Matthews,
Fred Steele and Joe Johnson.
Fred Steele scored England's only goal.

only four months with the club.

October 10th 1956, was the first scored at the Victoria Ground under
floodlights.
