Bridle Path, Dresden, Longton

Peel Street

As we have seen most of the streets in the Dresden Estate were named after prominent Liberals - an exception was made in the case of Peel Street as in 1846 Prime Minister Robert Peel persuaded Parliament to institute the policy of free trade, resulting in a general abolition of export duties - the so called "Corn Laws".
