Lord Street, Etruria
The Etruscan
The pub on the corner of Lord Street and
Etruscan Street was originally called the Railway Inn and later The
Etruscan.
At one time later it was renamed The Shelton
Bar, after the nearby Iron & Steel Works. After the demise of Shelton the
pub was renamed Rendezvous and then New Rendezvous.

It can be seen that certain of the doorways
are blocked up this is because originally the inn and a half-dozen or so
houses formed the original Fold Street. The square court behind then is
quite ancient; it was entered on the north side by a small opening between
two houses, and once known as pump entry, whilst on the south side through
a somewhat larger cobbled entry.
