These regulations prescribed much improved conditions - including the control of chemicals, pottery dust (which caused silicosis), workshop conditions and maximum and minimum working temperatures. |

being no National Health Service the factory and
the workers made regular subscription payments to allow the workers to be
treated.
Each Male over 18 years - 4
pence per month
Each Female of Young Person under 18 years - 2 pence per month
