Cole's ' Falcon' Glass Works, Norfolk Street
In the early 1860's Scrivener was responsible for the building of some of the earliest houses in Norfolk Street in the vicinity of his brickworks. When the executors of John Ridgway decided to auction the remaining building plots on the estate in 1865 it was "Robert Scrivener & Son" who produced the plans. In the late 1860's he was involved in the development of building plots in Norfolk Street and in 1870 in the construction of a pottery factory on the canal side of the street.
This area was the site of two factories, the Falcon glass works and the Norfolk Pottery factory. See 1898 OS map
