150 years of the Shelton Works

The Shelton Rolling Mill was from the date of the closure of the Steelmaking Plant, was supplied first from British Steel's Scunthorpe Works and later by the Teeside Works.

The mill has proven over the years that the decision to continue production on the site was the right one. By breaking all records virtually as they are made they have achieved a current output of 400,000 tonnes per year; a level of output that ten years earlier would have been said to be impossible.
