This photo taken from Wellesley Street the building stands on the corner of Shelton New Road and Howard Place.
It was the home of Mr. Birks a grocer - who lived here until the architect Scrivener designed him the Elms which was built just on the opposite side of the road. 

Howard Place is to the left, Shelton New Road and Snow Hill to the right.

'The Elms' stands on the corner of Shelton New Road and Snow Hill.

Since it's time as Mr. Birks residence it has been used as an annex to the local college and, at the time of the photo,  as a restaurant.
