Meir Waterworks |
A large reservoir at Meir, supplied by
several springs in the sandstone rock, was built in 1817 by George,
Marquess of Stafford, to provide water for the town. In 1844 the
supply was said to be good and carried to almost all the houses in the
town. A History of the County of Stafford: Volume 8 (1963), pp. 224-246. |
