Little is known about this manufacturer. First operating as Brookes & Co until 1902 and then as Brookes (Longton) Ltd. 

Brookes (Longton) Ltd had financial difficulties -  

• In February 1907, Brookes (Longton) Ltd. registered a £350 debenture secured against the company's undertaking, property, and uncalled share capital. This provided the company with working capital while giving the lender security over its assets. (Pottery Gazette & Glass Trade Review, Feb 1907)

• A further £350 debenture, dated 20 November 1908 and registered in January 1909, was secured on the same terms. Although it is unclear whether this represented a renewal of the earlier loan or a fresh advance, it indicates that the company continued to rely on secured borrowing. (P.G.&G.T.R., Jan 1909)

• Within six months, financial difficulties had intensified, and in July 1909 a receiver was appointed on behalf of the debenture holder. (P.G.&G.T.R., Jul 4 1909)

In 1909 the company entered receivership  - the Warwick Works were subsequently purchased by a consortium, who in December 1910 formed the Primrose Pottery Co. Ltd. to acquire and continue the earthenware manufacturing business formerly carried on by Brookes (Longton) Ltd. (P.G.&G.T.R., Dec 1910)
