  • Godden lists the operation dates as 1891 to 1905. However it is known that Frederick Malkin died before October 1904:

    "F
    OR Sale as a Going Concern, the old established Business of an Earthenware Decorator, formerly carried on by the late Mr. Frederick Malkin, at Belle Works, Waterloo-road, Burslem; fixtures and utensils at Alcock and Abberley, Solicitors, Burslem." The Staffordshire Sentinel, Friday October 21, 1904. 

 

NOTE: J. F. Elton is recorded as operating at the Belle Works from 1901-1910 Godden's encyclopaedia (p.236) - it might be that they shared the workshop for a few years.
