The Middleton and Hudson families operated at the Bagnall Street China Works (c.1870-88) and also at the Alma Works (1884-88) in Longton together from 1870 to 1888/9
In 1889 time they started their separate pottery companies, in 1941 their descendants joined forces again at the Sutherland Pottery.
