  • Then at the Wellington Pottery (Nelson Place), off Charles Street (c.1883 - 1889)

  • The partners were Peter Bednall and his brother-in-law, Charles W Heath

Marks and initials used on ware for identification:

Godden (Encyclopaedia of British Pottery & Porcelain Marks) records that Bednall & Heath uses the initials 'B & H'

These can easily be confused with those of Beech & Hancock who also used the same initials.

 

 

 

NOTE: it is sometimes incorrectly assumed that the Pekin pattern was produced by Bednall & Heath - the Pekin pattern was originated by Beech & Hancock and
continued by James Beech
