China and later also earthenware manufacturer at the Sylvan Works, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, England
  • The business was started by Arthur James Podmore in 1921 at the Sylvan Works, Elm Street, Hanley. He was in partnership with William Podmore and Ernest Podmore.

  • The company was a Listed Exhibitor at the 1922 British Industries Fair. "Manufacturers of Arms China in original novelties and Tea Ware; Mascot Dolls with coloured wigs. Black Cats a Speciality."

  • The partnership was dissolved on the 11th July 1927. The business continued - probably under the sole control of Arthur James Podmore.

  • The company closed in 1941 under the Wartime Concentration Scheme - reopened under new ownership as Sylvan Pottery Ltd.
