• Formally Podmore China Co who closed in 1941 under the Wartime Concentration Scheme  

• In 1946 the business was purchased by Mr. Kennedy Gordon who opened the business as Sylvan Pottery Ltd. (incorporated 14 June 1946). 

• In 1952 the business acquired the business and goodwill of the Bournemouth Pottery Co (established 1945) and moved the moulds and plant to the Sylvan Pottery and continued to operate under its own name until around 1957. 

• In 1956 the following were listed: Managing Director - K. Gordon; Decorating Manageress - Mrs. I. Bailey; Works Manager - F. Jones. The same people were listed for Bournemouth Pottery Co. Pottery Gazette & Glass Trade Review 1956. 

• Godden gives an operation period of 1946 to 1985.
