this model was used for a number of crests, sometime the ware is marked with the manufacturer 'Royal Crown Pottery Co', sometimes with the name of the retailer and sometimes it is blank.

 


the crest is that of the County Borough of Hanley

Hanley became a county borough in 1888 and in 1910, along with the other potteries towns, was federated into the county borough of Stoke-on-Trent.
