John Shaw and Sons Ltd. were established in 1920 at the Drewry Works in Longton making Ornamental & Table ware. 

On 5 July 1933 they were registered as a limited company and traded as John Shaw & Sons (Longton) Ltd.

The factories that were used, at various times, for production were;

• Willow Pottery on Warren Street (Formerly Hewitt & Leadbeaters) - Earthenware Manufacture.

• Warwick works on Chadwick street - Earthenware Manufacture.

• And Phoenix pottery (Formerly Foresters) - China sector.

By 1941 they were only operating the Willow Pottery and the Warwick Works. The Shaw business was closed down under the Wartime Concentration Scheme and all production ceased for the period of the scheme.
