The Mixing Process
In the production of almost every class of goods sifferent mixtures have to be used, and the quantity of each clay depends upon the respective qualities and for what purpose a particular product is required - as many as eight or nine different clays often being employes in obtaining the correct mixture. When taking the clays from the bays for mixing, great care is exercised to see that the correct proportions are used and the supervision is such that the possibility of error is almost, if not entirely, eliminated. The 20 different seams in existence at the Springfield Tileries enable not only and unequalled range of colours to be obtained, but special colours to suit any specific requirements - and in this respect Wheatly & Co. willingly place their 60 year's experience at the disposal of the trade.
