Navigation Road, Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent

Navigation Road ran from the wharf buildings at the end of the Burslem Canal (a short branch canal of the Trent and Mersey canal) up a steep hill to St. Johns Square in the town centre of Burslem.

The building of Woodbank Street ring road and Johnson Mattheys works means that Navigation Road no longer reaches as far as St. Johns Square.

A horse drawn tramway used to be used to haul material from the canal to the potworks. see a map of the tram way
