1893 advertising and trade journal. Page 61" we know that "Mr. S. Johnson, Manufacturer of Plain and Decorated Jet, Rockingham, etc.," operated the Wellington pottery works in Newport Street.

 Johnson also operated the Swan Works in Waterloo Road, Burslem
