Sneyd Green, in the north-east of Stoke-on-Trent
between Milton and Ruston Grange, Cobridge, developed from a rural landscape associated with the historic Sneyd estate into a mainly residential district during the 19th and 20th centuries. The area expanded steadily as the Potteries grew, with housing developments spreading across former farmland and open countryside.
This page lists the present and historic streets of Sneyd Green and links to descriptions of the origins of street names, old maps, local developments, and the changing character of the district over time. From old estate boundaries and rural lanes to later residential streets and housing estates, the streets of Sneyd Green reflect the gradual suburban growth of Stoke-on-Trent.
Today, Sneyd Green is largely residential in character, with its street layout still preserving traces of the area’s rural and estate origins within the wider Potteries.
