Hanley Road is part of the main road from Hanley through Smallthorne to Chell. Hanley Road joins Chell Street on the Hanley direction and High Lane at Smallthorne roundabout.

Little has changed (apart from the traffic!), the shop on the corner of Buxton Street has been a bakery but is now Sneyd Green Post Office.
