This is one of the places that the propagandising Nazi, Mosley operated. Nearby used to be the Minerva Pottery works and opposite stood Mount Taber Church.

Nearby stood two cottages, when they were demolished lots of tunnels were discovered underneath. According to Mr. Gratton, whose parents kept the Angel Inn Dick Turpin made his escape from here!
