Well Street Pottery, Tunstall
[also known as 'The Old Works']
| Well Street Pottery or The Old Works These works — of old foundation - were formerly carried on by Clive & Lloyd, and, after Mr. Lloyd retired, by Stephen Clive under the style of Stephen Clive & Co. from about 1875 to 1880. They were worked by Cumberlidge & Humphreys from 1880 to 1885 (and later at the Gordon Pottery). Their productions were the ordinary middle classes of earthenware goods for the home and foreign markets. 'Jewitt's Ceramic Art of Great Britain" In the 1950s Well Street was renamed to Roundwell Street. |
