Cooper's Brush factory still
stands as the yellow fronted building on the corner
of Hope Street and Brewery Street.
In the bottom of the picture is the Dudson Centre - the old factory of the Dudson Potteries
For many years Chawners
the men's outfitters used the part of the old Coopers works fronting
Hope Street as their main shop. Chawners also had a pawnbrokers in
Waterloo Road. |
although the frontage was
rebuilt in 1897 many of the feature of the original buildings remain
