  • Frederick Wedgwood Grove succeeded his father Richard H. Grove upon his retirement in 1867.

  • F. W. Grove was in business on his own account and with various partners. 

Previously:   Grove & Stark  (1872-84)

Subsequently: Grove & Oliver  (1889-94)

this pattern is in the aesthetic style - described as "overlapping panels with rural scenes, children, fishes and a boat amidst fruiting fig sprays"

A printed design comprising a half bust portrait of Victoria in royal dress flanked by four of her palaces, Windsor above, Balmoral below, Osborne left & Buckingham right

The pattern was registerd in anticipation of Queen Victoria's 
Golden Jubilee on the 20th June 1887

The registration number 58042 gives the details of registration of the pattern as "FW Grove of the Palissy Works, Longton on the 6th October 1886"

Part of a six piece toilet set in simple Art Nouveau taste, each piece with flower head roundels linked by wavy lines, the ring handles scroll moulded


The registration number 107065 gives the details of registration of the pattern as "FW Grove of the Palissy Works, Longton on the 23rd August 1888"
