China manufacturer at the Burton Place Works, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, England.
  • The Burton Place Works had previously been operated by Thomas & James Bevington and then Thomas Bevington. 

  • In 1891 the works were taken by Ambrose Bevington (another member of the Bevington family) in partnership with William Henry Fairbairns - and they operated as Hanley Porcelain Company.

  • The partnership W. H. Fairbairns was short lived and was dissolved on the 31st December 1891.

  • Ambrose then took Ernest Bevington into partnership at sometime around 1896 Ernest was declared bankrupt, in early 1897 application was made for his discharge. 

  • In 1899 the business was renamed to Hanley China Co.
