Earthenware manufacturer at the Bournes Bank Pottery, Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent

  • The partners were James King and William G Barratt.

  • In 1929 they were a Listed Exhibitor at the British Industries Fair -  "Manufacturers of Jet, Rockingham and Samian Goods for Home and Export, comprising Teapots, Jugs, Sugars and Creams, Cups and Saucers, plates, Filters, Coffee Pots, and Cocoa Jugs." Graces Guide 

  • In 1916 William Barratt purchased an interest in Gater Hall & Co. Both companies continued to operate until 1941 when King & Barratt was closed-down under the wartime concentration scheme, they did not reopen when restrictions were lifted. 

  • Gater Hall & Co remained in production under the concentration scheme and in 1943 the business, now under the control of William Barratt, was renamed to "Barratt's of Staffordshire Ltd
