Elder Road Works
"This pottery, worked by Meakin & Co. from 1865 to 1882, was capable of turning out about 2,500 crates of white graniteware annually for the United States.
It passed, in 1882, into the hands of Crystal Porcelain Pottery Co. limited, whose speciality was the production of hard porcelain tiles and plaques, and telegraphic and chemical ware. The mark was the crest - a dove holding a paln-branch. This firm continued, at the above address, until 1886. A later firm, the Porcelain Tile Company, then operated these works."
