  • In December 1949 the business of Floral China Co. Ltd. was taken over by Ridgways (Bedford Works) Ltd. who were part of the Lawley Group. The business then traded as Adderley Floral & Figurine China Co. Ltd.

  • In 1956 the business name was changed to Adderley Floral China Works (Ridgway Potteries Ltd).

  • The business operated as a division of Ridgway Potteries Ltd and in 1972 became part of Royal Doulton Tableware.

The date 1789 cetainly doesn't refer to the date when the ware was produced nor the formation of any Adderley company. 
It will refer to the origins of the potter works that the early Ridgway family started - likely that of Job & George Ridgway
