Group of 3 houses. 1875. Brick and timber frame
with plain tiled roof.
One-and-a-half storeyed, a block of balanced
asymmetry of the Arts and Crafts Movement. Facade comprises 2
wide projecting gables and a central bay with lean-to roof over
porch to left and squared bay window to right.
Gables each have 4-light casement windows with
brick arched heads to ground floor, and similar windows above
with flat heads. Decorative framing in gable apex. Line of main
range projects each side of gabled wings, with lean-to porches
in the angles. Tile-hung dormer over central section, and date
on tie beam of gable. Tall fluted shafts to gable and axial
stacks.
The cottages were built for the Sutherland
Estate.
